Wikicatalog at the 2009 VRA Conference in Toronto

The Cataloging Special Interest Group has invited us to show Wikicatalog at their SIG meeting on Friday, March 20th at 5:PM.  The meeting is organized by Meghan Musolff (University of Michigan) and Elisa Lanzi (Smith College), and is described as an audience-driven "open forum" for cataloging issues.  Greg Reser (University of California, San Diego) will attend the meeting and introduce Wikicatalog.  Feedback from the Cataloging SIG is eagerly anticipated!

The Digital Matchmaking Special Interest Group will be meeting at the same time, on Friday, March 20th at 5:PM.  Organized by Jacquelyn Erdman (East Carolina University) and moderated by Maureen Burns (UC Irvine), Wikicatalog will be discussed by Heather Seneff (University of Washington).  The Digital Matchmaking SIG is working on collaborative ways for VRA members to share images, metadata, and accessible image collections.  This SIG should also provide some constructive input for Wikicatalog!

We got a nice mention on Heather Kline's blog, Adventures in the Wild West Library Frontier

"I posted recently about some of the efforts in the visual resources community to create a more collaborative cataloging environment.  One of these is the Wikicatalog, now in beta-testing.  The creators of this site have asked me to make some comments about the current configuration and make suggestions."
